There are Christians in the military. And the occasional fruitcake who thinks his god is bigger than your god. But that does not make a "taliban theocracy."

And yes, John, I've been around the block a few times with the military, hooyah.

There has always been a cross-over between military and religious groups, especially during war. It is just in the last 30 years the "left" has needed an issue and this is a safe one. Just as you said, oh omnipotent one, - "the left, only want to rock the boat when they think it’s “safe”.

Get real. Do you think average Americans will ever give up their gluttony of porn, drugs, promiscuity, and sordid and sundry other vices - to become Bible banging crusaders led by Rev. President? The preachers are coming, the preachers are coming?

Sooooo John, I guess I get my "omniscience" and fortune telling from the same place you get yours - can you give me the exact time and date as to when the fothermuckers are going to come for us, as you assert?

you know all the rank and file, or a significant fraction of the military, evie? wow, you've been around the block a few times, then. did you do a scientific poll of the rank and file to back up your ridiculous assertion?

thank you for the article. people need to know how we're devolving into a taliban-style theocracy. and how our holy warriors view our holy wars and support all this.

and none of the lefties want to comment on this. too fearful of their god that they've been hypnogtized with, i guess, or the ones claiming to be the representatives of the higher powers (the ones doing the hypnotizing). too ignorant to challenge these beliefs, as in everything else, figures. too brainwashed, the whole nation is, and the military is, too. they, the left, only want to rock the boat when they think it's "safe".

except for evie who is not affraid, she "knows" and we should "trust" her. why should i trust your omniscience, your fortune telling? where do you derive your knowledge, there's a shitload of signs they are mired in this? there've been pronouncement by high ranking officers about the superiority of the christian religion, about the presumed shittiness and darkness of the muslim religion, etc. and what about this event described here, this was a mirage? the rank and file didn't participate in this as well as in ongoing daily prayers aboard ships, barracks, etc.? and yes, another constitutional barrier has been crossed, another prohibition shitted upon -- and by those in charge of protecting it.

when they come for you, it'll be too late to be affraid.

As a non-Christian, happy heathen denomination, I'm not feeling the fear here. I know, I know, it's the separation of church and state b.s.

Mikey Weinstein and his 501(c) buddies need to find a real cause to litigate. Trust me, the US military rank and file will never be overrun with rightwing Christian fundamentalists.

I was more outraged with all the pomp and asskissing and tax dollars wasted on the Pope recently.
