Hp, I understand your position, but I don’t think you understand Israel’s too well. The fact that journalists have been killed is, to put it mildly, a fact of life. How many journalists are killed in warzones? This is common. I am not going to comment on the fact that they were targeted, but you must also understand that the soldiers, and the people in general, are under a lot of stress. Stress doesn’t even describe it properly because you and I are under stress daily, but that doesn’t compare to what the soldiers, but more importantly the people feel daily.

Israel is in constant war. Hp, please don’t take offense to this, but you have no idea what it is like to wake up in the morning, kiss your child goodbye before he goes to school not knowing if this is the last time you will see him or not. This is a day in the life of an Israeli. Palestinians are under similar threat, but I find it hard to understand how someone can back the Palestinians in this situation when they repeatedly send in suicide bombers, attack schools, attack public places … in effect, using terror. Why don’t they attack military installations? Why don’t they use targeted responses at Jewish officials? This would at least make sense to me, but targeting civilians simply puts the people on edge, leading the government to take such actions.

One can argue, like Shabnam, that the occupation of Palestine is unwarranted. This is a completely different argument. Much can be said about the history of Palestine, the native Palestinians and the native Jews. The conflict that sprung up after 1948 could have been solved long ago, but Arabs persist to attack the Jews. What are the Jews to do? Only relatively recently has Jewish aggression been witnessed, and that is because they have no choice. Now that the Jews are taking the war initiative, they are declared the aggressors. Where is the logic?

I can write books on this subject, so I will cut it short. My last point; rather than point fingers, now is the time to offer solutions. Violence will not solve this problem … not bullets, not nuclear missiles. This problem can only be solved diplomatically where each side makes their demands, their concessions, and peace is declared.

ALMOST doesn’t equal a camera really filming your own death as an Israeli tank opens fire on you.

I guess I’m imagining all those You Tube videos and cell phone photos from the un-Holy land showing the zionazis and their daily inhumane actions of criminal behavior as the norm. Behavior which might be perceived as ALMOST human.

Those illiterate who portrait the apartheid state as “eventually make peace with ….” do not have the knowledge to make such a conclusion. The apartheid state has stolen more than 85% of the Palestinian’s land and has no plan to back off. As matter of fact they are expanding their settlements by minutes to steal the rest of the land and the “Israeli left” protects the stolen goods for the Zionist state through their objection to any sanction against the apartheid state. These illiterate people must read a lot before giving us more “hint” that how the apartheid state is going to save us all. There should be only one state for both Palestinians and Jews. Those who are not comfortable with this arrangement must use their original passport and get out. The region has suffered tremendously since the Balfour Declaration of 1917. Palestinians have paid greatly with their lives and their property for something that have not done and has NOTHING to do with it. The Middle East region has nothing to do with crimes of others. The West must pay for its own crimes. Read about the Zionist’s plan in the region.

Furthermore, why Israel should be allowed to have nuclear weapon in the first place? Contrary to this writer’s claim, Israel is using its nuclear weapon to bring the whole region under its control. This is not acceptable.

I’ve never been to the middle east, but have read a few history books…

The Israeli left will, hopefully, gain control of the government and bring a sense of peace and order within its boarders. Afterwards, they will eventually make peace with their neighbors.

And get this, an Israeli writer mentioned that eventually Israel will extend its nuclear umbrella to protect the Middle East against outside powers.

That is of course, if calmer minds prevail.

acer, that’s the problem. What is ‘fed to you.’ Or more importantly, what is not.
With the advance and availability of video through cameras and especially cell phones, the daily crimes and psychotic behaviour of the Israelis are being seen regularly now. In the past their everyday crimes and sadistic acts were rarely recorded. They are rather infamous regarding their treatment of journalists who are observed observing them. Like the incident the other day where the newsman was clearly distinguishable as was his vehicle, yet he was killed by tank fire. No doubt another ‘mistake.’ Whoops..
Things have changed and though they pretend this malignant behavior is rare and exceptional, it’s more and more obvious it is not.

Wow, that was really long winded. I, in the west, have heard this man speak and can do nothing but agree with him when he states facts. He has even made some judgements about my country that are sadly true. However, the venom is still evident and by its presence illegitimate. I don’t know if the Isrealis are the bad guys over there as I am not there and don’t see but what is fed to me. I also see your slant in this peace and your spin is quite transparent. This is the problem with writers of your ilk. You think we can’t see through this. It would be advantages to you if you just stuck with pure truth and left the spin on the table.
