First off, one of my best friends was serving as volunteer security that night and hes black. He saw what happened, this guy was dealing drugs and starting up fights with people in the crowd. The volunteer security for the event asked him to leave and he flipped out and started throwing punches. That's when the evergreen state police officer came and placed the individual under arrest by explicit request of the student volunteered security. When the rioters started going ape shit on her she let him leave and just took down his name and number. This didn't stop the fallowing riot that pursued. All in the name of some absent power struggle and non existent injustice. Fallowing this event the school decided to make a event committee review board to make sure there was proper security in place for such big events. The SDS group on campus tried to host an event and the school wanted them to hold it off till the committee was in place. SDS obviously saw this as an infringement to their rights and made a big deal about it. This idolization of the resistance against the 'authority' is highly inappropriate and unfair to people actually suffering, this example also serves as an accurate representation of what SDS on evergreen campus is all about. The self glorification and attachment to rebellious causes in order to ultimately overthrow the 'established order'. Evergreen is viewed as a joke of a school because of these kids. The elites must be rubbing their hands in glee, because the ICE centers ARE run terribly by incompetent republicans, and people are dying in them, and this whole administration is corrupt, but supporting illegal immigrants associated with this whole neo-fascist Aztlan movement should NOT be a liberal cause. There's the catch 22 - to fight the illegal and non-assimilating mexican gangbangers, we have to support the govt and the right, while we dont agree with them from the other angle. America is stupid. It really is time to leave it, and let it collapse into the full-on disaster it's headed towards. These mexicans are dying for a war, but they can't fight a real one that isnt against a soft civilian population. The SDS are a cool organization, but its gonna take more economic pain in America for any protest to take hold the way it needs to. Without media deconsolidation as well, the message cant get out through the mass media the way it needs to.
