This is all very true. Why do human beings behave this way when they obtain power? Whites are the most recent savages but you can see the pattern throughout history. Humans are hellbent on self-destruction. What happened to our collective survival instinct? Has evolution taken a turn to rid the planet of the human condition? One certainly could not blame it.

Not only are the elite obsessed with money and control they want every barrel of oil on the planet for themselves. They lie to us about how much is left and extractable. They use fear and tacit compliance of Americans who are appalled to pay three dollars a gallon.

But their goals are many-fold. Not only do they desire the control of all natural resources on the planet they also want massive world depopulation. They are literally killing two birds with one stone. Take the oil and kill the natives. The elite know that we are living unsustainably and their only desire is to prolong their own existence long enough for two things to happen : to figure out how to live forever and to find and inhabit other planets that can support human lifeforms. Think it’s crazy. Google some of it and you will see it no joke. These are the Rockefellers, the Trilateral Commission, the Bildebergers, the Council on Foreign Relations, Freemasons and the Illuminati.

Britain once proclaimed that the sun never set on the British empire. That is still accurate. The US is just running everything for them now.

I’ve read all the comments back and forth about these two articles, essentially i agree with Nafeez and as i write this the holocaust that he discusses that started in 1492 continues: in Latin America, South Asia and the East Indies indigenous peoples are being slaughtered for the benefit of transnational capitalism. But one holocaust has not been mentioned thus far: the so called “burning times” between approx. 1100 and 1500AD when it is estimated that somewhere between five and ten million people, mostly women, were burned alive, tortured, raped and sexually tortured by the agents of the most holy roman catholic church in Europe. It finally slowed down and stopped when the savage Europeans with their devil religion found new peoples to rape, torture and murder in other lands.

Sea-based mercantile countries have always tended towards worldwide expansionism based on a distancing of the ‘mother’ country from the conquered peoples. Contiguous empires, like the Russian, Austrian and Ottoman, have tended to integrate in a more complicated way with their conquered territories.
The sudden awareness that the maritime powers’ economies depended on oil, at the very beginning of the twentieth century, has resulted in their dishonest and utterly self-interested treatment of much of the world, most obviously the middle east. This policy is now revealed for all to see, and the west has lost any aura of moral authority it may once have had.
We are no better, and probably worse, than those peoples we have historically vilified.
The results of our policies are now unfolding and the future is, sadly, going to be awful for us all.

I don’t understand how Brooke can say that “Joseph Stalin has presided presided over the largest empire the world has seen since Genghis Khan”. After reading this sentence, I soon realised that this man didn’t know what he was talking about. He would only have to briefly flick through any history book to realise that the British, or now the American empire far exceeds the accomplishments of the Russians.

You have to laugh when Brook, after a tour de force of ignorance and bullshit, proffers the opinion that it is Nafeez who is ‘..blinded by prejudice, hatred and bigotry’. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Somehow, in the perverted world of Rightwing psychopathology, the existence of crimes committed by other than the imperialists of the capitalist West( and most of the supposed ‘crimes of Communism’ have been inflated, exaggerated beyond laughability or simply concocted for black propaganda purposes), causes the very real crimes of the West to disappear. The Right specialises in this sort of Denialism. As we all know, the Palestinians live in a five star holiday camp, built for the ungrateful brutes by the Israelis out of simple ‘moral purity’. In Iraq, there was no such thing as the ‘Salvador Option’, where the US, unable to suppress resistance to its illegal aggression, openly (I mean how much more open can you get than articles in Newsweek?) outlined its plans to raise sectarian death-squads to attack the resistance. Since then the US has armed killers on all sides, and set them loose against the population and one another. Divide and rule is as old as Empire. To then argue that this is just Moslems killing Moslems, and the invader has no culpability, is moral infamy that would have not been out of place in Nazi Germany. Indeed there is a clear continuum between Nazi crimes, and those of the US. After all the US began planning for the Cold War long before the end of WW2, recruiting Nazis like Gehlen, the head of Hitler’s intelligence apparatus, Werner von Braun and others, and aiding and abetting the escape of numerous Nazis and other Eastern European fascists, many of whom were later employed in mass murder, torture and terror throughout the Third World. To simply deny these undeniable facts, and the extent of and culpabality for millions of deaths caused by US Imperialism, is stupid and morally repugnant. It is a stance the Right strikes often enough. Refusal to acknowledge proven facts, invention of exculpatory faery stories and that blind devotion to the American Reich that must have had its equivalents in Germany in the ’40’s, right up to the end. To live such a phantasy it helps, too, to hold the lives of the mostly black, brown , red and yellow victims of Yankee murderousness in total contempt, and the Right has no problem sinking to that requirement.

Where do you get your information from Brook, have you ever read any Chomsky work, he criticizes and condemns Stalinism, communism and Nazism, as being savage and brutal, literally non-humane, I advice you to read some of his work before making up your mind.

The think that the whole world forgets is that the US is fruit of the poisoned tree of European colonialism. The American continent was not, and nowadays never can be, decolonised and the land given back to the native peoples. What happened was Rhodesia-style UDI: the colonists declared independence of the mother country the better to expolit and oppress the native inhabitants. We in Europe have come to terms with the evils of colonialism but US Americans have a problem: they have no existence other than as part of Europe’s colonial past but there is no way that they can now just pull up sticks and go back to Europe.

The tragedy of the US was to become powerful (nobody hates Canadians!). As “colonials”, they see themselves as superior to native peoples everywhere (including Europe!). But as “colonials” they are reviled by all, including the modern descendants of their European ancestors. if they had had the good sense to sit quietly between sea and shining sea and avoid foreign entanglements, all would have been well, but they have a chip on their shoulder (perhaps one should say a freedom fry!). They keep trying to prove they are not just the descendants of Europe’s misfits and rejects and in so trying, prove it all the more.

Like the youngsters who suddenly snap and start shooting wildly in schools, universities and shopping malls, neocon America has snapped and is lashing out wildly in all directions. The question is not whether or not all this will end badly, but how badly will it end. And how soon.

Nafeez has obviously studied at the Noam Chomsky school of world history, where they teach a version that completely ignores any atrocity committed by anyone other than a Western government.

Of course, the ruthless brutality of communist leaders and the very real intent to colonize and dominate smaller countries by the Soviet Union doesn’t exist in Nafeez’s version of history. Joseph Stalin, after all, presided over the largest empire the world has seen since Genghis Khan, absolutely controlled by the Kremlin.

While his numbers about Iraq are grossly overstated, many civilians have died — at the hands of their fellow Muslims, and NOT US forces. Al Qaeda has killed more Muslims in Iraq in 3 years than Palestinians have died in the West Bank and Gaza since 1967. Do these perpetrators of genocide warrant any criticism from Nafeez? Of course not. It would interfere with his desperate need to make America the world’s bogeyman.

This article was written by a man who knows nothing about what is really going on in the world, because he’s too blinded by prejudice, hatred, and bigotry to see it.
