We face many converging crises and potential crises, from global warming to peak oil to germline genetic engineering to nanotechnology to running out of potable water to a generation of autistic Americans, and yet we and our "leadership" are more interested in the next quarter's profits and tonight's reality TV than the world we bequeath to grandchildren. Truly pathetic. Why didn't anyone tell us? “Why didn’t anyone tell us about this? Why weren’t people doing something about [fill in the blanks]?”
