Psychoanalytic theory has been proven to be un-scientific, un-predictive, and patently false.

“Psychoanalysis starts with the assumption that human behavior is unconsciously motivated. The Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis is dedicated to the study of these unconscious forces based upon the framework of Sigmund Freud, and further developed by other psychoanalysts such as Hyman Spotnitz. BGSP students rise to the challenge of working hands on with the full range of psychological disorders while researching the inner workings of the human unconsciousness.

Spotnitz began to believe that the nuclear problem in severe narcissistic disorders was not due to repressed sexual content, but to bottled up aggression. His aim became to resolve these patients’ resistances to saying everything-including their hostile as well as loving feelings for the analyst. He soon discovered that the process of “saying everything” was facilitated when the patient perceived the analyst as being like himself. The aim of modern psychoanalysis is to cure patients-to free them from maladaptive and destructive repetitions that dominate their lives and behavior. Medication is palliative; it may be needed temporarily to keep someone alive and functioning, but it does not attempt to influence the unconscious forces that interfere with a patient’s ability to respond flexibly and meaningfully. To liberate patients from recurrent emotional states means that they will have a fuller range of feelings, be more in touch with objective reality, and may, as Freud hoped, be successful in love and work.”
