hello Joe

Actually, I don't care what you think, becuase you apparently don't think. Your views are those of a very typical American fascism. But you won't investigate what that means, because you'd rather go around calling people names. Calling those who refuse to participate in murder sissies. Our "fore father" was a real savage indeed. America was founded on genocide, and the legacy continues. Indeed, I'm the biggest sissy I know and proud of it.

you are all a bunch of libral hippies that haven't served a single day in any military, intelligence agency, political position, ect ect ect. I just love arm chair quarter backs who think they know how to run the world from a chair and a keyboard and have no idea what is going on.
Do you know what I think, I think the government was probably concerned about the internet intially seeing as how truths could slip out easily and across the world that they would rather not have published. However thanks to mass's of idiots just like you they are able to rely on the age old tactic of disinformation/overinformation, hell you make such a good job of it I think you may work for a psyops portion of the government. Morons! And oh yeah, WTF is your point? Do you even have one? Let me guess, "All Wars are BAD!" Please don't hurt me mr terrorist I will bend over for you! Our fore father would castrate you with a pitchfork for being a bunch of un american sissies.

Regarding the long exchanges between Keith Harmon Snow in both of his articles on Darfur, especially “The US’s War in Darfur” (dated 11.23.07) but also “Darfurism, Uganda and the U.S. War in Africa” (dated 11.24.007), and the posters to them, I would like to echo the comments of two posters whose opinions I hold in high regard:

Gerald Spezio posted:
I checked out Keith Harmon Snow as thoroughly as I could……There are only a few people in the world who produce such outstanding reporting and scholarship…Besides, any man who will ride a bicycle across Africa and India earns my respect, period. (11.24.007)

And Marcelle Cendra posted:
Keith should be given a lot of respect for risking his life on the ground in Africa to bring us reports…for which he receives no personal compensation. In addition, his ability to make connections between horrors in Africa and U.S. interests/abominations elsewhere is very worthwhile. He is not about “debating,” but rather DOING something regarding the atrocities. In that vein, he tries to educate one and all. Thanks, Keith. (11.24.007)

Regarding a continuing (and worsening) problem in comprehending the increasingly excellent and numerous articles Dissident Voice is putting up: It would constitute a quantum leap in comprehensibility if readers could “take a snapshot” of an entire article and all the posts commenting upon it, and save them for printing.

By the way, now that New York Times, CNN, Fox, etc. have raised Darfur awareness to unprecedented heights in this country, talking heads have started debating how to raise awareness in <a href="http://www.theonion.com/content/video/how_can_we_raise_awareness_in" rel="nofollow">Darfur</a> itself.

Mr. Snow I believe your recent article on the Global Research blog (http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=+SN20070207&articleId=4717)

Oil in Darfur? Special Ops in Somalia? The New Old "Humanitarian" Warfare in Africa

You seem to be arguing that US/Israel intest in Darfur is about OIL. This argument has been thoroughly trashed by DV participants who see US interventionism about an ideology called: Zionism (as if Zionism has no particular purpose other than to de-stabalize the ME). My argument has been that Zionism is an extention of Western/US Imperialism.

In a word, I think you are supporting the idea that Africa, like the Middle East are the battle fronts for the Resource Wars.

hello

Thanks to Linda Jansen, who notes the error in the date. If you read the version of this story on my web site it is corrected, and also, an expanded text. I had a discussion with Dissident editors about reposting, because the most up to date version, but we decided to leave this older version it due to lack of resources (our time and energy). The neweer version has significant additional info especillay in the Somalia section. I have emailed and ask that at least this hugely erroneous date be corrected.

You will find the change even more interesting than the suggestion by Linda above.
ERROR: On November 6, 1996, Bill Clinton was elected. Around 10 November 2007 an armored 4x4 Humvee (HUMMWV)—
CORRECTION: "Around 10 November 1996 an armored 4x4 Humvee"....

I apologize for the confusion.

p.s.
People want Noam Chomsky to be the perfect superhuman critic. So they take his glaring humanity (not actually being superhuman) as evidence of a conspiracy; they also like to try to make themselves look good by challenging him, and this is nothing but pure ego or, as Reichian terms, fascism.

By the way, here's one clue as to what forces might be behind the "Save Darfur" extravaganza: In a live radio <a href="http://www.onpointradio.org/shows/2006/10/20061003_b_main.asp" rel="nofollow">talk show</a> interview of Noam Chomsky from last year, Alan Dershowitz called in (around minute 25), made an <i>ad hominem</i> attack on Chomsky, and then said "...the problems in the world are caused by perfect tyrannies, perfect tyrannies like North Korea and Sudan where genocide is going on and other parts of Africa and in Iran...". Dershowitz then comes back on air around minute 29 to castigate Chomsky for "not being a strong voice on Darfur" and "other genocides" (as if genocides are a more or less permanent, ongoing fixture in human affairs). Chomsky's response in which he speaks of Darfur "grandstanding" and his prescription for resolving the conflict is around minute 32. Here's a Realplayer <a href="http://realserver.bu.edu:8080/ramgen/w/b/wbur/onpoint/2006/10/op_1003b.rm" rel="nofollow">audio</a> link to the interview.

I too was curious about western interest in Darfur until I connected the dots. As usual Israel and its Neocon puppets converged on this opportunity to deflect attention from the real bloodbath in Iraq and Palestine perpatrated by the Judeo-Christian mass murders. Not only that, it also justifies killing Arabs. Times magazine reporters (Peter Beinart-Neocon sheep) would repent for drumming the Iraq war on one page and then, a few weeks later call another war in Darfur. You should expect crooks to keep at peddling their criminal their snake oil but why would intelligent people fall for it again and again is beyond me.

sk. I opine that DV editors take a breather after putting up very long articles by established writers, which you may observe are not closely edited articles. And if you post a comment to one of these "soon after" (my characterization) they appear, the "ASAP moderation" software will be running and you'll have to wait. In fact, I've never tried to post a comment to a long, heavily footnoted article by an established writer, but a shorter variation of what you seem to be talking about has occurred when I've posted comments to shorter articles, within 20 minutes or so of the time they were put up.

Which is to say, those of your posts which you say are never showing up, WILL show up (if they don't contain obscenities, etc), if you are patient and careful not to exit from your browser.

By the bye, this article by Snow appears to be very interesting; but I don't anticipate having the time, energy and concentration required to read it, much less post a comment to it.

For some reason, a significant percentage of my posts are never showing up (apparently, <i>ASAP moderation</i> means never for them). Can somebody please look into this and figure out whether it's buggy software or is the case that moderators don't have enough time to vet posts. If it's the latter, I would suggest doing away with moderation and letting posts show up as soon as they're entered.
