The Hunt Oil/Halliburton Connection
And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid
-- Dick and Lynne Cheney's Christmas card inscription, 2003 (both claim membership in the UMC)

Long-time SMU trustee (since 1976) Ray L. Hunt is head of the Dallas-based Hunt Oil Company, one of the largest independent oil corporations in the world. He is a Bush friend and a central figure in bringing the Bush think tank proposal to SMU (Personal communication, 2007). ... In addition, Hunt donated a whopping $35 million toward the Bush library/think tank to secure additional property for the project (Schutze, 2006).

One month after 9/11, Bush honored his friend Ray Hunt with a seat on the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB), and he was re-appointed in January 2006 (Bryce, 2005). ...

Several experts are persuaded that Hunt's position at PFIAB could easily benefit both Hunt Oil's worldwide energy interests and Halliburton, which has been awarded billions of dollars worth of no-bid, cost-plus contracts in Iraq by the U.S. government (Bryce, 2005; Wolffe and Bailey, 2005). ...

Halliburton has outdone even Enron in using offshore tax shelters to avoid paying taxes. ...

And Ray Hunt has become an even richer billionaire. ... To provide perspective, the $1.2 billion increase in riches in four years by Hunt is greater than SMU's total endowment garnered since 1911 (SMU, 2006).

I guess this writer did not include the "Hunt Oil" connection to this library location and library donation in general; It was reported that Mr. Hunt, a close friend of George Bush (current USA president) is on the board of SMU, and is donating 50 million to this library project. Hunt Oil Company, worth billions, has the only contract with the Kurds in IRAQ to drill the oil there. Mr. Hunt is also reported to be getting nominated to be in a position with this administration where he will have free access to review all international information with total clearance.....
This was also covered one evening on Keith Oberman's Countdown Show and I have since been following it under "Hunt Oil" and "SMU Library Donations", etc...
If "Tony Blair, former Prime Minister, was in the papers for being George Bush's lap dog"...I would suggest a few searches and you are going to thing "Georg Bush is Hunt Oil's lap dog"!!!
Who stated this war was not for control of the oil...Iraq and now Iran...the USA wants control of the oil; to drill and distribute it!!! Sounds like war crimes to me...Kill a sitting Iraq Leader, in control of his country, and then kill and dislocate hundreds of thousands of the population!
Sounds like Bush and his friends; let's just think of a nice library all architecturally correct....this during a war....during a time when we can't afford health care for the USA children....Let alone the money that he is borrowing against our children's future to play war games and risk
the lives of the USA military!!! WHAT A SHAME
