ets,

I agree that the only way the US will leave Iraq is through GI resistance, which is why it's so important to support organizations (like IVAW) that organize GI resistance, as well as a broader anti-war movement that can provide support to soldiers who refuse to fight, thereby encouraging more to resist. Standing up to the military is a difficult (and dangerous) choice, and soldiers who are considering it need all of the (organized) support we can give them.

Sorry, folks, but just IVAW isn't going to get this country out of Iraq anytime soon.

Code Pink isn't going to get this country out of Iraq, nor Cindy Sheehan nor MoveOn.org and especially not the establishment Democrats.

Only the soldiers and marines in the field can save themselves.

And dare I say that the only way the U.S. will leave Iraq any time soon is if our soldiers and marines mutiny against this illegal war and occupation.

I learned of IVAW only a week or so ago.

Phil said it all, in his closing section above: "People should support the IVAW and other organizations supporting GI resistance, either monetarily or however you can."

IVAW's website, incredibly impressive as well as incredibly relevant, is at http://www.ivaw.org/ .
