The problem with this analysis is that there is NO consideration that the destruction of Iraq was not for profit but for domination. The discussion is more like it is trying to fit the situation into an ideology rather than provide analysis of the situation.

As James Petras documents, the oil company did not push for this war and there is no proof offered that other "industrial" sectors wanted this war.

My understanding of Marxist analysis is that in order to reach a conclusion you need proof. The speakers offer no evidence to support their argument that the War in Iraq was about "Imperialism" as they define the term.

However it was clear that Zionists lobbied for this war and advocated for the War in Iraq. Yet there is no mention of their influence is even touch upon.

As Ms. Smith states ...

Understanding the actual roots and nature of imperialism is therefore pivotal for building an effective movement that can end this occupation and develop a radical movement for overthrowing imperialism.

She right. Getting to the root is vital because accurate analysis is needed in order to mobilize people. Unfortunately neither speaker has any desire to get to the root and offer conjecture over analysis.
