"Traditionally, the UN has for many years been hostile to Israel, with Arab Bloc and un-aligned nations pushing through resolution after resolution condemning the country like no other in the world."

Could it be because Israel has violated international laws and defied more UN resolutions than any other nation in the world? What a coincidence.

Oh, and shooting those rockets across a UN-recognized border? Care to compare that with, say, the number of rockets the IDF has fired into Lebanon? (Hint: over 12,000 in the last half-decade alone.) Or the number of times they've violated the blue line along that particular border?

Truth isn't anti-Semitism. Condemnation of war crimes isn't anti-Semitism. And I don't know of any UN resolution against or criticism of Israel that isn't eminently deserved.

I agree with Eric. Usually Mr. Barzoud's articles, even when biased at least make sense.
I suppose the article above is referring to the Hamas/Gaza scenario, which since their coup and takeover a couple of months ago has basically split from the West Bank and has no recognized status other than as a kind of rogue Taliban-like political entity, which is still in a shooting war with Israel. It's a bit odd to expect handouts and the use of hospital facilities while they're still shooting rockets across a UN recognized border.

Israel still ships water and fuel and allows humanitarian aid into Gaza on a limited basis.

Meanwhile the Abbas-based Palestinian regime and Israel are beginning to cooperate on joint security issues, trade and the contours of an eventual Palestinian state.

Traditionally, the UN has for many years been hostile to Israel, with Arab Bloc and un-aligned nations pushing through resolution after resolution condemning the country like no other in the world. If there is less antisemitism at the UN, then it's a very recent development.

I support the Palestinians. And I like Ramzy Baroud. His book on the Second Intifada was quite good, as are his articles. But I have no idea what Baroud is saying in this article. Qatar introduces a pro-Palestinian resolution, and the Palestinian delegation blocks it?
