Bankers play the games and like those that develop new games - invent ways of making hand over fist without being accountable. The real problem lies in that these same bankers (investors, speculators and the like) were given a free reign on their own schemes knowing that they would not have to be accountable no matter what. Now that the Cow has come home and there is nothing to back up these CDO's except to reference to them, they want the government or really everyday ordinary people to bail them out. What should happen is that all these that played the game should become derivitives themselves ( paper with no substance) and put out on the street - and the government should start new banks or realigned existing banks with enforcers to watch and safeguard that these practices are not done again. Maybe its too late and maybe its not but no matter, these practices will cause havoc for financial instituions around the world and will ripple for sometime.

It seems to me that these companies got caught in their own game and now are throwing a tantrum. They want us to clean up their mess or they won't play.Do we need them to play? Can't we just create new banks?
If we helped people with their mortgages and the fed bank opened the window to companies for short term financing, we cold weather this thing until the "creators" cleaned up their own mess.
