In a system of racism (white supremacy) it is not difficult to understand that the brutal actions taken against the (non-white) people above, are part and parcel of that system. I'm not a lawyer so, I don't give legal advice. I would suggest however, that a statement and, names of the law enforcement officers involved in the afore mentioned incident, along with the names of their supervisors be reported to, The U.S. Dept of Justice on suspicion of conspiracy to violate the U.S. Constitution. In particular, The 5th (Due process) and, 14th amendments (equal protection). It's possible, that the officers failed to uphold their duties to the people they arrested.

Thanks Dissident Voice, for this "all too familiar" story, and thanks Tarif and Evelyn for your strength in trying to protect the young man, and for standing up for yourselves and lots of others. I'd love to believe that things are going to change in this lifetime. But in a country that injects its children with toxic "vaccines", and is waging war on its own citizen's in every way possible, I don't see this government getting off their *** to do anything that doesn't put $$ in their pockets. Hell, they don't even care about their own family's future generations. We are just the people who make it all possible for them. Bioterrorism is real. Its happening to us every day in every way. They just do it in their own unique, slow, subtle and ever- so- sneaky way. I don't trust anything to do with the government. It's about us doing something, though, and a whole lot of people are too brainwashed, and exhausted from all the STRESS, to do much more than look forward to the end of the day. sad, sad, sad. What can we do? Please, some ideas and answers???

Reading this post disgusted me. I suppose, as a non-American, we listen to America continuously lauding itself and its beliefs in freedom, democracy and human rights and telling the rest of the world that they all want to live there, when the reality is outlined above.

Sorry, I'll give my offer of a green card a miss!

To say this is a shame is understatement. Thanks Dissident voice for giving the story a body.

Tarif and Evelyn, you paid for our sins.

I'm sorry for your losses. I hope your suffering will help our country take a step forward to the day when this won't happen.

Don't be "white". Whiteness is not an inherent characteristic. It is a social construct.

Growing up in Los Angeles' downtown area, I quickly learned to see cops as the enemy. You knew it from the way they looked at you behind their dark shades. And those few times I saw their eyes I could see in them that they regarded me as something less than human. They weren't there for our protection. They were there to give us jaywalking tickets, interrogate/humiliate us, pull us over for no reason... anything but protect us. Many of the LA cops live out in the valley, far away from the people they police. I think there is something wrong with that. A police force that does not reflect the composition of the community is deeply problematic.

I think we got a taste for what authorities are capable of after Hurricane Katrina. Many white people then were outraged, and some did go to help out themselves. Yet what has changed? I think anger and outrage are in order, and I don't think any creator is involved. We are a racist country and it's time to look in the mirror. For anyone who thinks it's not ingrained in them, I suggest this article by Robert Jensen:
http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~rjensen/freelance/whiteprivilege.htm
Those of us who are white need to speak up when we witness injustice, but we also need to look inside and be honest on a deeper level.
