Please see an Iranian scholar’s view who lives in exile and –based on his own words– cares about Peace and Social Justice in his homeland:

Glen Ford,

I read you on Black Agenda Report. Yours was one of the first voices that probed the Barak Obama mania. Way before anyone else began to question: Is there a there there.

Glad I can get that word to you via Dissident Voices.

Only the 2 Dems you singled out - and Kucinich seems to have a full agenda - have even touched the issue of endless war. The others are deeply lost in the "banality of evil", that mindless zone that remains detached from the technocratic killing they order up for the world. Somehow, its seems, the presidency now comes equipped with a license to kill...and damned if they don't use it.

As Kurtz last words: The horror! The horror! The horror!

With this understanding, what to do now?

Perhaps a new party to replace the un-reformable Democratic Party?

A party explicitly opposed to the Project for the New American Century. Opposed to unending war for profit and power. Cut the military budget by 50%, shut down the 700 military bases around the world. Re-instate taxes cut by Bush gang.

A party that commits the entire resources of the country to end global warming, promote mass transportation, renewaable energy. essentials for human survival.

A party that promotes an economy that works towards fulfilling the economic needs of all the people, not just to profit a tiny minority of super wealthy.
No more people living on the streets! No more people being dumped into the streets when they have no money or health insurance! (See the film SICKO)

A party to unite all of the oppressed people of this country that cuts across all racial, ethnic, age, language, etc. to unite against the unending destruction of peoples and planet.

A SOCIALIST HUMANIST PARTY to promote the end of gangster capitalism, run-amok capitalism, which is supported by both Democratic and Republican parties.

I once hoped the "rainbow coalition" of Jesse Jackson would be such a party, but was to tied to the Democratic Party as a "special interst" group.

The labor movement must stop supporting the Democrats, become involved in using its resources to fund a new national radio and television network 24 hours a day providing the information and analysis working people need to understand what is happening to them.

All the "special interst" groups (anti-war, racial groups, unions, housing groups, teachers concerned about the destruction of education, health care providers, seniors concerned about Social Security, etc.etc. must combine their resources into a new party. Promote the "special interest" platforms to become the platform of the new party. Provide candidates to run at every level of government to provide the new leadership and new programs.

There still time before November 2008 to start this process?
(Even announding and organizing a founding convention of such a party
will blow away both Democrats and Republican. They will know that their
days are numbered!)
Can existing leaders of so-called "minority" special interest groups overcome their existing powerlessness, and link up with each other to start this new party?

This all-inclusive struggle will attract millions of so-called "white" people
who are, in fact, being exploited and destroyed by this gangster capitalism.
