		<description>Economics is more religion than science, and its promoters were never believers themselves.  

They&#039;re plainly not against government intervention in the economy at all, provided this intervention makes the rich richer, as it frequently does.  For example, if the Social Security admin ever admitted to not being able to account for a couple-three trillion, you can bet it would be a major scandal; but when the Pentagon does the same thing, there&#039;s a virtual media blackout on it.  Or how about the S&amp;L bailout, courtesy of Saint Ron?  I could go on and on.

The &#039;great experiment&#039; isn&#039;t over--it never began.</description>
