Lake Powell a wonderful place? For jet skies and motor boats maybe. No, I'll pass on Lake Foul and dream of a lost caynon that may one day see sun again.

The passion for the cause is laudable but the fact remains that 40 million people in the southwestern United States rely on waters from the Colorado for everything from the critical, growing food, to the total waste, washing their driveways.

In addition 7+ billion energy dependent humans are placing more and more greenhouse gases into our atmosphere every second and having an energy source that 1) does not produce any of these gases and 2) actually absorbs these gases already in the air is a wonderful thing.

Perhaps the author would prefer we save some very worthy fish over the needs of ALL air breathing creatures on the surface of Planet Earth but I would not.

Balance is the key to all, and where it can be found is truly elusive but when one looks at the big picture and all of the pros and cons of Lake Powell, one will note that, especially given the range of human creations, Lake Powell is a truly wonderful place and has brought many more positives than negatives during its existence.
